(And What It Taught Me About Focusing)
by Laura Storey

The other day, I found myself staring at my closet, totally stuck.
I needed to pick something to wear, but for some reason… I couldn’t decide.
One outfit felt comfortable and familiar.
Another felt a little bolder, different.
I kept going back and forth, second-guessing.
It didn’t seem like a big deal, but something in me wasn’t letting me move forward.
So instead of forcing a decision, I paused.
I turned inward and got curious.
At first, nothing. Just that weird, stuck feeling.
Then, after a few moments… something wordless but real began to emerge.
A felt sense.
It wasn’t about the clothes.
It was about how I wanted to feel that day.
One choice felt safe—like blending in.
The other? Like stepping into something a little bigger, a little more me.
And once I listened to that… the choice was easy.
That’s the thing about Focusing.
It’s not about making “better” decisions.
It’s about sensing what’s really there—and letting it unfold.
Next time you feel stuck (even over something small), try this:
1️⃣ Pause.
2️⃣ Turn your attention inward.
3️⃣ Get curious and sense inwardly.
You might be surprised what comes up.
