These simple shifts can make all the difference
by Laura Storey

If you’ve ever felt like your Focusing practice isn’t quite clicking—or you’d love to go deeper—these three simple shifts can make all the difference:
1. Slow Down (Even More Than You Think)
Focusing isn’t about rushing to an answer. When something feels unclear, try pausing and sensing for just a little longer. Give your body time to speak.
2. Let Go of “Figuring It Out”
If your mind jumps in, trying to analyse or “get it right,” gently remind yourself: this isn’t about solving—it’s about sensing. See what happens when you stay with what’s there instead–including "getting it right: part.
3. Invite Your Listening
Imagine listening with your whole being—not just your ears, but with presence. What does “listening deeply” feel like in your body? Rather than forcing insight, try sensing the feeling here—then wait. Often, a shift happens in the quiet.
✨ That’s it. Just noticing. Just sensing.
When we listen in this way, something new becomes possible—within ourselves and in how we meet the world.
