FAQ
  • 1. How do the self-paced courses work?
These courses are fully online and designed for you to go through at your own pace. You'll receive pre-recorded video lessons, guided exercises, and written materials to help you learn and integrate Focusing into your life. You can access the course anytime and revisit lessons as needed.
  • 4. How long will I have access to the course?
Once you enroll, you’ll have lifetime access to the course materials, so you can learn at your own pace and revisit the content whenever you like.
  • 5. What technology do I need?
You'll need a device (computer, tablet, or smartphone) with internet access to stream videos and download materials. Some people find it helpful to use headphones for guided exercises to enhance focus and minimise distractions.
  • 6. Can I get a refund if the course isn’t right for me?
Refunds for self-paced courses are available within 5 days of purchase, as long as you haven’t completed more than 20% of the course. Once you pass the 20% completion mark or the 5-day window, the course is non-refundable. If you're unsure whether a course is the right fit, feel free to reach out with questions before enrolling.
  • 2. Do I need prior experience with Focusing?
No prior experience is needed. These courses are designed to introduce you to a new process and skill, guiding you step by step. Whether you're brand new to Focusing or looking to deepen your understanding, you'll find clear instructions and practical exercises to help you integrate Focusing into your life.
  • 3. Is there any live support or interaction?
Self-paced courses are designed for independent learning, but some may include optional live Q&A sessions or discussion forums where you can ask questions and connect with others. Check the course details for available support options.
  • 2. How are the advanced courses different from the Focusing Foundations Training?
While the Foundations Training teaches the core principles of Focusing, advanced courses go deeper. You’ll refine your skills, explore more complex Focusing processes, and gain greater fluency in guiding yourself and others. These courses are more experiential, with less theory and homework—focusing instead on direct application and deepening your lived experience of Focusing. They emphasize personal integration, deeper Presence, and working with life’s unfolding process.
  • 3. Will I have Focusing partnerships?
It depends on the course. Some advanced courses emphasize Solo Focusing (Focusing alone), helping you deepen your ability to guide yourself. Others include a mix of Solo Focusing and partner practices to refine your skills in both areas. Each course description will specify the format, so you can choose what best supports your learning.
  • 1. Who are these advanced courses for?
These courses are designed for those who have already completed the Focusing Foundations Training (Parts 1 & 2) or equivalent training. They are ideal for students who want to deepen their Focusing practice, strengthen their confidence, and explore more advanced applications of Focusing in daily life.
  • 4. What if I haven’t practiced in a while?
That’s okay! Many students take advanced courses after a break from Focusing. The supportive learning environment allows you to ease back in, refresh your skills, and reconnect with the practice at your own pace.
  • 6. What is your cancellation policy for advanced courses?
If you need to cancel, you can receive a full refund or apply your course fee toward a future class up to 18 days before the course start date. Cancellations made 17 days or fewer before the start date are non-refundable. If you have questions, feel free to reach out.
  • 5. Can I retake an advanced course if I’ve already completed it?
Absolutely! Many students find value in repeating advanced courses to deepen their understanding and gain new insights. If you’re retaking a course with Laura, you may be eligible for a refresher discount—just email to receive a coupon code.
  • 1. Do I need any prior experience with Focusing to join this course?
No prior experience is needed to enrol in Part 1 of the Focusing Foundations Training. This course is designed for beginners and will guide you step by step through the principles of Inner Relationship Focusing. If you've already completed Part 1 (or Levels 1 & 2 in the previous format), you can continue with Part 2 to deepen your practice.
  • 5. How are the online classes conducted?
The course is held live on Zoom, allowing for real-time interaction, guided exercises, and small group practice. You’ll receive a private link to join each session and will have access to recordings in case you miss a class. You’ll need a reliable internet connection, a device with a microphone and camera (computer, tablet, or phone), and the free Zoom app.
  • 2. What if I miss a class?
While live participation is encouraged for the best learning experience, we understand that life happens. Please plan to attend all classes. If you miss more than 4 classes, you’ll need to complete a Make-Up & Progress Session (additional fees apply). You’ll have weekly Focusing partnerships to help you stay engaged with the practice even if you miss a class. If you have concerns about attendance, feel free to reach out.
  • 6. Can I take Part 2 without taking Part 1?
Part 2 builds on the skills from Part 1. If you’ve completed Part 1/Level 1 and 2 (from the previous course structure) or an equivalent Focusing course, you may be eligible. If you're unsure, reach out to discuss your experience. Some students find it helpful to retake Part 1 before moving on to Part 2. Revisiting the material allows them to deepen their understanding, refresh their skills, and build confidence in their ability to apply Focusing. If you’re retaking the course with Laura, you may be eligible for a refresher discount. Email to receive a coupon code.
  • 9. Do I receive a certificate of completion?
Yes! After completing the course, you’ll receive a certificate of completion that you can download and share.
  • 4. How is this training structured?
The course includes live online sessions, guided exercises, discussions, and weekly Focusing partnerships to deepen your practice. Each session builds on the last, helping you develop Focusing skills step by step in a supportive learning environment.
  • 8. When is the last day to register?
Registration closes two weeks before the course start date to allow time for preparation and ensure a smooth learning experience. If you're interested, be sure to sign up before the deadline!
  • 10. Can I earn Continuing Education (CE) credits for the Focusing Foundations Training?
CE credit eligibility depends on the requirements of your governing body or professional association. This course has been accepted in the past for CE credits by therapists, coaches, hypnotherapists, and other professionals. If you need documentation for CE approval, please check with your association and reach out if additional details are required.
  • 3. What makes this Focusing training different from other mindfulness or meditation courses?
Unlike traditional mindfulness or meditation, which focus on quieting the mind, Focusing is an active, interactive process of tuning into your body’s felt sense—the key to real change. Instead of ignoring or overriding emotions, it helps you connect with deeper inner knowing, work through emotional blocks, and gain clarity in life. While not therapy, coaching, or meditation, Focusing shares elements of each, offering a lifelong skill to access deep insight, resolve blocks, and move forward with confidence. This course provides structured guidance, live practice, and a supportive environment to help you integrate Focusing into your daily life.
  • 7. What is your cancellation policy?
If you need to cancel, you can receive a full refund or apply your course fee toward a future class up to 18 days before the course start date. Cancellations made 17 days or fewer before the course start date are non-refundable. If you have questions, feel free to reach out.
